Wetheral Railway Station is on Tyne Valley Line between Newcastle and Carlisle. The Station was opened on the 19th of July 1836 by the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway. it was then Closed on the 2nd January 1967 as Part of Dr Beeching Cuts and reopened on the 5th of October 1981 by British Rail.
